01 Skills

A skill is a reusable procedure for an agent. It combines steps, quality criteria and, when useful, scripts or templates.

Its folder contains a SKILL.md: the name and description explain when it applies; the body defines the workflow. The agent loads the full instructions when needed. Skills can be requested explicitly or selected through their description. See the official OpenAI documentation.

Example

Use the grill-me skill to work through the open decisions
in our workspace setup with me.

A good skill states its inputs, process and success criteria. It still needs project context, human decisions and verification of the result.

A tool enables an action, such as creating an issue. A skill describes the workflow. A plugin can distribute skills and tools together.

For this pilot: use a few relevant skills, try them on real tasks and improve them from specific failures. Next: Grill me and Wayfinder (German).
